Haddad’s is looking for a road mechanic to support our growing industry. We are looking for a detail-oriented, efficient candidate to meet Haddad’s standards by performing preventative and general maintenance to our truck and trailers. They will also be responsible for quality control, safety and the cleaning of our equipment. Travel within the New York-New Jersey area will be required.

Responsibilities and Duties·
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifies worn and damaged parts.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Repair, replace, create, maintain and clean Haddad equipment.
- Identify, diagnosis, and resolve related issues, i.e., doors, floors, side panels, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and general construction.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.
- Ensure proper documentation is complete, including repair orders, filing, etc.
- Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience Diesel Mechanics/Truck Mechanics OR 2 years of experience in an advanced handyman skill/trade.
- Must have a technical understanding with attention to detail.
- Demonstrate dependability, thoroughness and excellent verbal communication skills.
- CDL Class A license is preferred but not required.
- Experience with state inspections, PM services, standard transmissions, electrical wiring installation and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
- Prefer an education or training in Diesel Mechanics.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be fluent in English, bilingual proficiency is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to travel daily.
- Paid training includes 4–6-week training period in Pittsburgh, PA and Kearny, NJ locations.
Hours:
The location may be open 6 days a week. The schedule may vary and flexibility is a must.
